Some Goldwing Single Carb Conversion History

Here's one of the first conversions i'd run across, very basic, grand total of 77$ and in use for some time now.

"Single carb and other custom fuel delivery Mod's"

Dan Filipi seized the moment and created a special section skunkworks sub forum, where he and his merry band of ragtag mainly redneck buds and wizards, tore into the Weber based 32DFT, from every angle.

The Captain was not amused! and didn't help that he got the ~ fresh and recent boot!  yet again!!

The naked bigwigs having completely missed the boat and not even aware of it, were finally beginning to boil faced with internet realities.

Meanwhile, Joedrum and Co surged forward..

"hooch is going to try a two stage fuel system"

This is where a major shift began in the GSCC game that then led to westgl's weber based 32DFT conversion.

It is also where many of us learned about the marvels and mysteries of the 'joedrum choke'!!

Weber 32DFT

Bought a classic early 80s Goldwing a few years ago and ended up running across single carb conversion options for the first time, most of the info old, dated and confusing.

As I started to learn about these bikes,  I quickly became aware & interested in what joedrum was up to, then westgl popped up all over with fresh current info on his SCC, iow, the Goldwing Single Carb Conversion scene.

It is a hot topic right now for some folks with all kinds of fiddling going on, in an attempt to make this not only cheap, solid, easy and reliable,  but most of all an available & viable option over the original setup of 4 carbs.

As I understand it, a relatively new Weber based 32DFT carburetor option has been identified, there is plenty of info on it now, tons of experimenting with all the results, good and bad has been going on & is out there.

It has been described as ~ the first carb to come on the scene that at this point, can be purchased not only new for ~ 90 bucks, but is jetted to bolt on & be mostly good to go, or the nearest to that goal.

This all started for me when I noticed westgl putting up the best detailed & current info I'd seen up to that point, all over the place and began here, as well as at a few other sites.

It is mostly self explanatory at this point but requires some reading, I will be trying to amass mainly current and pertinent info in regards to the Goldwing single carb conversion scene.

I also now have ~ 6-7 carbs I will be fiddling with, imo this is mostly for folks who turn their own wrenches, even at that, it is no picnic yet getting it right.
